Maltodextrin: why the carrier matters in flavour powders

The carrier protects a flavour during drying and storage. Here is why we produce our own maltodextrin, including coloured grades.

When a flavour is spray dried, it needs a carrier: a material that forms the dry particle and holds the flavour inside it. Maltodextrin is one of the most widely used carriers for flavours, colours and vitamins.

Our maltodextrin

We produce maltodextrin from corn, rice, potato or wheat carbohydrates, with a density of 300–450 kg/m³. Coloured grades are also available.

Where it is used

Beyond carrying flavours, maltodextrin is used in soups, sauces, desserts and powdered drinks. Because we make it ourselves, we can match the carrier to the product we are drying for you.
